St. Patrick's Day

Is there gold at the end of a rainbow? We haven't ever made it to the end of one yet, but we sure did have fun making this rainbow windsock. Bring on the April showers, we want to see those rainbows! :)
In honor of St. Patrick's day, we talked about Leprechauns and clovers. We even went on a rainbow scavenger hunt. We found some treats, and these fun whistle lips at the end.
We reviewed the colors and order of the rainbow with this magnetic rainbow game. Who will build their rainbow first?
For a math center, we used or luck to see which marshmallow would win. We rolled a die with each of the pictures of the marshmallows on it, and raced to the top. After one of the rows reached the top, we counted all of the marshmallows on our chart.
Another math center was our pots of gold! Each pot had a number on its side, and we filled it with that many gold coins.
And, we dug for our own gold in our sand table. We had gold coins and gold nuggets!
We also made our own rainbow, edible necklaces with our fruit loops cereal. We sang our rainbow song as we strung our necklaces.
Rainbow Song
(To the tune of: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star)
Red, orange, yellow, green, and blue.
Indigo, and violet too.
Rainbow, rainbow in the sky.
Rainbow, rainbow way up high.
Red, orange, yellow, green and blue.
Indigo and violet too!
For our writing center, we wrote our names in the colors of the rainbow! We wrote it once in one color, and kept tracing it in every color of the rainbow.
Another fun math center, perfect for St. Patty's day, was our clover counting dominoes. We counted up the number of clovers on each side of our domino, and found its match!
And, we had some fun with our rainbow bean bag toss! At the end of our toss, a pot of gold!
Spelling words of the week: Pot and Gold
We had the pleasure of celebrating the big #5 with this cutie pie!
Happy Birthday Kennadee!
Our stars of the week this week:
