Secondary colors

Now that we know the primary colors, we talked about what colors we get when we mix the primary colors together....the secondary colors! We talked about the letter C this week, so what a better project than a color wheel!?

We had playdough in the three primary colors for a color mixing center. The color wheel was so fun to mix-up that the kids wanted to see what other colors they could make too.

And, we also had this water dropper center where the kids had so much fun watching more color mixing magic happen. We started with clear water, added the 3 primary colors, and used more cups of clear water to mix the primary colors with our water droppers.

We each took turns playing colors hyperdash. The kids had to follow instruction on which color to press, and were timed doing it so they got so excited when they beat their own time.

We also worked on our cutting skills for letter C this week. We had curvy and jagged lines for that we followed as we sang our scissors song:
(Tune of London Bridge)
Keep your thumb up when you cut, when you cut, when you cut.
Keep your thumb up when you cut,
and squeeze the blades together.

At this color mixing center, we had a bunch of different manipulatives to help us mix our colors!

For a writing center this week we formed our letters with our colorful craft sticks. Check out Eliza's E!

We also talked about the letter D this week. We had a drawing center for the kids to come draw and create!

Lexi and her friends really enjoyed these 2 piece color puzzles. They had them done in record time!

For a fine motor activity, we practiced stringing beads in the order of the rainbow.

These jumbo crayons had a lot of fun items in them of their corresponding color for our sorting center.

And these colorful shape builders brought imagination to life in our dramatic play center. We had rocket ships flying to the moon, and carousels at the fair!

We were happy to celebrate another birthday this week!
